Introduction

Hello,

My name is Keisha Deering.  I am a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Professional, REALTORS®.  This is my new real estate blog and I am really excited to be sharing a part of me with anyone and everyone who decides to visit my blog. There is so much that I would like to say that sometimes I get too excited to let my clients know, so I think by writing down my thoughts via my blog this will help new clients feel their way through this crazy, yet exciting business called "Real Estate"!
First of all a little background about me.  I am originally from Sarasota, Florida. I am married and I have 3 sons.  My husband and I have been married for almost 22 years ( July 2 is our anniversary!  Yay!!)  My sons ages are 19 years old, 10 years old and 9 years old. So, yes, I have one child in college and 2 children in elementary school. Can you say, "Busy Woman"?  I have been in the Hampton Roads area since 1998.  I decided to become REALTOR® because I like  helping people.  I have worked in customer service most of my adult life, but I wanted more for myself and my family.
My husband and I bought our first home in 1998.  We had been stationed at Ft. Ritchie, Maryland and I had been looking for homes online in the Spring.  I saw this one particular  home online and I knew this was "My Home".  No one could change my mind.  We made an appointment to meet with the Realtor® and she had arranged for us to see "My Home" last.  The homes I looked at that day were nice, but they were not "My Home".  Once we got to that property I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was indeed "Home".  We put an offer in on that home and we were moving into our home by the beginning of Summer.
The point of that story is when you decide it is time to buy your home, whether it is your first home or your millionth home, you will know if this is the home for you, because you will get a feeling.  It's not a feeling that I can describe with uncertainty, but you will know.  Nothing and no on can dissuade you from wanting to be in that home.  Sometimes it can be something in the home, i.e, a light, a wall pattern, or a stairway.  But you know deep inside that this is the place that you plan to call home for many days to come!
The process of home ownership can be very exhilarating and maddening at the same time.  But it is well worth it in the end.  You will ask yourself "Why am I going through this aggravation! It is not WORTH IT!" But  that is where you would be WRONG.  If the process was easy, everyone would do it.  And a lot of people don't do it because they don't know who to ask, or they ask their friends and they think because it worked for their friends it should work for them as well.  Life does not work this way and neither does real estate.
With this blog, I am trying to get across to anyone who may come across my blog the JOYS and PITFALLS of real estate.  With an understanding that it may seem like it is HARD, but if you connect with the right person and or people this journey can be very REWARDING!
Look for more to come and THANK YOU for Reading!  Have a GREAT Week!
